City Attorney

Civil legal services are provided on contract by the law offices of Ogden, Murphy, Wallace. This involves drafting ordinances and resolutions for Council consideration and providing legal advice to the City Council, Boards and Commissions, and department staff. The Ogden firm also represents the City in civil and criminal proceedings and assists in the negotiation of labor contracts. A regional law firm with offices in Seattle and Wenatchee and more than 40 years of municipal law experience, Ogden, Murphy, Wallace has acted as legal counsel for the City of Redmond since 1980.

City Clerk

Supports the Mayor and City Council, oversees the Hearing Examiner function, coordinates City elections and monitors state legislative actions. Also responsible for coordinating and distributing agendas and information in support of City Council meetings. The City Clerk is the official Public Records Officer of the City and maintains official City records including minutes, ordinances, resolutions, contracts, deeds and titles. In conjunction with the Police Department, the Clerk's Office oversees and responds to public records requests. The City Clerk's office receives all claim for damages forms.

City Prosecutor

The Prosecutor's Office files and prosecutes gross misdemeanor, misdemeanor, and traffic infraction cases involving adult offenders in Northeast District Court. The office also prosecutes code violation cases prepared by the Code Compliance Officer before the Hearing Examiner. Staff members work in close cooperation with the Redmond Police Department, Northeast District Court personnel, and the Code Compliance Officer to ensure that cases are filed and prosecuted in a timely fashion.

Executive/Office of the Mayor

Provides leadership to City departments to direct the many functions of city government and implements the policies and ordinances of the City Council. The Mayor's Office provides citywide communications to residents, manages the City attorney and prosecutor's office, assesses community needs, proposes policies and develops strategies to address those needs.
