Redmond Fire Department

Since our founding in 1946, the Redmond Fire Department has striven to develop its solid reputation for serving the community members of greater Redmond.  From fire suppression and emergency medical services, to rescue and hazardous materials response, the department works diligently to meet the changing needs of our community.

Our mission is to continuously protect and preserve life and property through quality education, prevention, disaster preparedness, and rapid emergency response within our 45 square mile service area which includes the City of Redmond and the surrounding area of unincorporated King County within King County Fire District 34.

The Redmond Fire Department is comprised of over 150 uniformed and 10 non-uniformed personnel.

Redmond is the regional provider of advanced life support (ALS) services in northeast King County.  We currently operate three Medic One units and one Medical Services Officer (paramedic supervisor) unit staffed by our 30 Harborview trained paramedics.  Our ALS staff serves a population in excess of 270,000 throughout Redmond, Kirkland, Woodinville, Duvall, and the northern portions of Sammamish; an area of nearly 200 square miles.

Our firefighters are cross-trained as Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) providing basic life support (BLS) services to sick or injured people, as well as rescue, hazardous materials response and mitigation, non-emergency service calls, and fire code inspections and enforcement.
