Household Hazardous Materials

PLEASE NOTE

Change in WASTEMOBILE SCHEDULE. It will not be held during the recycle event on July 26, as previously stated in the event brochure.  The Wastemobile will be available instead from July 18-20 in the Home Depot parking lot.


The Redmond Recycle Event DOES NOT accept any household hazardous waste. 

Wondering what to do with hazardous materials sitting there unused in your shed or garage? Dispose of these materials FREE through King County's Local Hazardous Materials Management Program.  The two options are listed below.

Household hazardous materials include, but are not limited to, the following materials:  
  • Oil-based paint 
  • Thinners & solvents
  • Fluorescent light bulbs/tubes (Disposal Option 1 & Option 2 below and a maximum limit of 10 of each item.)
  • Butane and propane tanks/canisters and kerosene (Disposal Option 1 & Option 2 below and items may be empty or full.)
  • Pesticides
  • Glues & adhesives, aerosols
  • Hobby chemicals
  • Toxic cleaning products
  • Products with Mercury
  • Antifreeze & automobile fluids
  • Gasoline & diesel 

Note:
1)  Used motor oil can be recycled through Redmond's curbside program.
2)  Latex paint which should be dried out and put in the garbage can.

Factoria Household Hazardous Waste Storage Drop-Off Facility
13800 SE 32nd Street, Bellevue

Days: Tuesday - Sunday, except New Years Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas
Hours: Monday - Friday: 8 am to 4 pm and Saturday - Sunday: 9 am to 5 pm
Limits: 30 gallons of gasoline; 50 gallons total per customer, per day. No containers over 5 gallons in size; no latex paint.

Wastemobile Service in Redmond
Location: Home Depot Parking Lot (Map)
 
Date: July 18-20  (changed from original listing of July 25-27)
Hours: 10:00 am to 5:00 pm
Limits: 30 gallons of gasoline; 50 gallons total per customer, per day. No containers over 5 gallons in size; no latex paint.

Recommendation: To avoid delays, go during weekdays or in the mornings, if possible. Please keep products in original containers or label them if they are not. For more information, please call the Household Hazards Line at
