—The Redmond Police Department is utilizing IdeaScale to encourage community engagement and feedback regarding public safety topics. Over the next few months the department is seeking comment on several different areas to include traffic enforcement, ideas to help curb homelessness and panhandling, customer service, and what social media tools the community would like to see the department use.
IdeaScale is a social media platform that began in 2008 and has proven successful in other cities such as New York and Chicago. When citizens visit the site, they can submit feedback, vote on existing ideas, or add comments.
Commander Erik Scairpon noted, “This is an innovative way for us to connect with the public. It gives them an opportunity to provide the Redmond Police Department with valuable feedback as we plan for the future.” The Redmond Police IdeaScale site is in a trial period. The site will be evaluated for future use by other City departments.
Those who live, work, recreate, learn, or drive within the city are encouraged to participate. Users can access the site, which is hosted at http://redmond.ideascale.com/
