Food Scraps and Organics Composting

The City of Redmond offers food and compostables collection to eligible businesses at no extra cost.  Over 200 businesses and organizations are keeping Redmond clean and green by composting their food scraps!

Commercial Organics Program Quick Facts

Businesses may request up to three (3) 64-gallon carts collected up two times a week by Waste Management.  This service, which is targeted for businesses with large amounts of food scraps or other compostables, can result in a smaller garbage dumpster – and a smaller bill!  Collected materials are taken to Cedar Grove and turned into compost for landscaping.

For a list of acceptable compostable products and compostable bags, visit the Cedar Grove website.  You may also contact the City for help determining if your items are accepted.)
