The Certificate of Occupancy (C of O) states the building or portions described in the C of O are inspected and no violations of the codes or other laws regulating building construction and enforced by the City have been found for the intended use and occupancy. A C of O is required prior to a building or structure being used or occupied.
Certificate of Occupancy Requirements
The Final Building Inspection must occur prior to the request of a C of O.
Final Record Verification
Applicant contacts the Permit Coordinator at 425-556-2410 once all the permits are completed and approved. The Permit Coordinator reviews all inspection records to verify the necessary information to issue the C of O.
Issuance of the Certificate of Occupancy
All C of O’s are issued through the Development Services Center. Upon final record verification, C of O’s are processed in a minimum of five working days. Within 6 months of building occupancy, the site landscaping is installed and a final landscape inspection requested through the project planner. Upon inspection completion and approval, the applicant submits maintenance bonds in order for the landscape and tree retention performance bonds to be released.
