Disposing of "Big Three" Electronics & Other Electronics
Option 1 - E-Cycle Washington Program
The Recycle Event does not accept TV sets, computers and monitors (the "big three"). Thanks to Washington State's E-Cycle Washington free recycling program, electronics manufacturers must now take back the "big three" for recycling. E-Cycle Washington Program
Any size of "big three" is eligible for free drop-off (except TVs larger than 21" at curb.) All other types of electronics may be accepted for a fee. For working units with buy-back potential, call Computer Surplus at 425.497.1945 or visit its store at 16715 Cleveland Street, Redmond, WA.
1) Mitronics, 17455 NE 67 Ct., #100, Redmond, WA (Map). Monday - Friday Hours: 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Mitronics will also open especially to accommodate the needs of event participants on Saturday, July 18, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.
2) Value Village, 16771 Redmond Way, Redmond, WA. Monday - Saturday Hours: 9:00am - 9:00 pm. Sunday Hours: 10:00am - 6:00 pm.
3) Northwest Center, 8867 161 Avenue NE (QFC Parking Lot), Redmond, WA. Open Daily: 9:00am - 5:00 pm. Restrictions: No console 31-inch TV or larger.
4) Salvation Army, 17667 NE 76th St, Redmond, WA. Open Daily: 10:30 am - 6:00 pm.
Option 2 -Curbside Electronics Recycling
Single-family Redmond residents can now recycle, through the curbside recycling program, the "big three" (computers, monitors, and TV sets up to 21") along with a variety of other electronics such as VCRs, audio equipment, fax machines, printers, modems, networking devices, keyboards, mice, microwaves, etc. The limit for each acceptable unit is set at 2 ft. x 2 ft. and less than 35 lbs.
NOTE: Pickup requires no advance scheduling between September 28 and October 9. You are still required to contact Waste Management or 425-814-1695 to schedule a free pickup for all other dates: Electronics Reuse & Recycling Program Details
Option 3 - The Recycle Event
The Recycle Event accepts anything electronically wired or battery-operated (including flashlights) EXCEPT the "big three" (TV sets, computers and monitors). Please refer to Option 1 and Option 2 listed above for recycling the "big three".
